1 cup almonds (or your nut/s of choice)
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 shot whiskey
Combine water, sugar and nuts in a large saucepan. Do not stir.
Heat over medium heat until the liquid bubbles and turn caramel coloured.
Remove from heat and add whiskey.
Turn out onto a baking tray / cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and placed on a wire rack. Make sure nuts are in a single layer.
Cool completely. Break up the nuts and store in an airtight container until ready to eat.
